Kaiser Permanente's National Linguistic & Cultural Programs
Kaiser Permanente (KP) is the largest non-profit health care organization in the United States, serving approximately 8.5 million people in nine states and the District of Columbia, thanks to the dedication of some 182,000 employees and physicians.
Our overarching vision focuses on improving not only the health of our members but also the communities we serve.
Our KP membership is a microcosm of the diversity of our nation and our world. We have collaborated and implemented a series of initiatives related to training, certification, research, tools development, and coalition formation with partner institutions outside of Kaiser Permanente to better serve our diverse populations.
Our initiatives in language access and services stem from a systems approach in the provision of culturally &linguistically competent care. The success of these initiatives is rooted in work force diversity and capacity, which embodies the rich cultural & linguistic expertise that mirrors the diversity of our membership and communities served.
