Certificate of Completion
A Certificate of Completion is awarded to students who successfully pass the HCI Certificate Program. This is a year-long program consisting of 3 courses which requires a commitment of about 380 hours (based on the City College of San Francisco's year-long curriculum).
Graduates of the HCI program are more marketable as health care interpreters, and also, if applicable, as health care professionals with qualified linguistic skills. As a result of changing demographics and increasing demand for language services, trained and qualified health care interpreters are recognized as a valuable commodity in the industry and the community as a whole.
